We are family

We are a small and humble organization under the watchful but not dominating eye of Masanobu Kikukawa 10th dan Okinawan Shorin ryu. We train hard locally and when the opportunities arise we travel and train together as friends and family.

Shihan Sei Peele

Started training with my father in 1979, my father was a student of Hanshi Ezo Shimabukuru, Shorin ryu. I continued my karate in an official dojo under Hanshi Robert Herten's, Shorin ryu in New Jersey. After Herten's passing I decided to continue my education with Hanshi Masanobu Kikukawa Shorin Ryu Shinkokai.

Chikurin kan dojo

Chikurin is the Japanese word for bamboo forest. Kan refers to training hall. So, this is the Bamboo forest school. There are many subtle meanings for why I chose this name, but you will have to join us to find out for yourself.
